The Chronicles of John and Michelle

trackables
Friday 30 May 2008 at 11:43 pm
johnmichelleThe story of two travel bugs quest to find eachother.

This is a tale of two travel bugs, seeking the entire globe in hopes that they would some day reunite and live happily ever after.

It was a dark and stormy night, December 17th 2004 to be exact. In "Van Valkenburg Park", a small park in the west central region of the Twin Cities Metro area, a desperate voice from a small plastic man with pen in hand could be heard writing to his long lost love. He wrote:

Dearest Michelle-

O Michelle, Michelle wherefore art thou Michelle!

Today I am beginning my journey to find you. I will search every last cache on the planet and will not stop until I have found you.

Right now I am residing in a quaint little dwelling with a walrus of all creatures. I am sure this will result in many intriguing conversations.

I hope to continue my journey toward you soon.

Forever your plastic friend,
John

John remained with that walrus (goo goo g'joob) for 6 days until a traveler by the name of whitnallgps came by and said, "Maybe Michelle is in Wisconsin. Will take John there to look for her." And with that the two traveled to Wisconsin to enjoy a dairyland Christmas complete with a Packer victory. After traveling a distance of 271.7 miles south east whitnallgps left John at the "End of the Road 4." It was December 26th 2004.

Only 4 days past. Accompanied by a dog, Akubo helped John sneak across the border 2.7 miles south to Illinois. There John found a new resting place with "Norman J. Jenson."

The new year came and there was still no sign of Michelle. On January 2, 2005 John cried "Oh where of where is Michelle?" Wzbt03 heard his crys. Feeling sorry for John's grammar, Wzbt03 took John into his company and ventured on a 12 day journey 6.8 miles north up "Big Hills, Over the River and Through the Woods." And there he left John.

Mean while, 2752.72 miles to the south east, news finally breaks regarding the location of Michelle. On January 15th 2005 Michelle wrote the following letter from the "Old sugar mill" located on the island of Tobago:

Dear John:

Tobago is beautiful! A little unrefined, and the food is good but not great. Though Jemma's Treehouse just a scant 1500 feet from me was quite fantastic! Be sure to visit the Argyle Waterfall, and do some scuba or snorkelling while you are here, but have someone take you out to the reef -- the waves kick up too much sand near shore!

I hope to see you soon! How does July in GR sound?
Michelle

Will Michelle ever want to leave this paradise?

Back in Wisconsin on January 19th 2005 MajorBrat met John with letter in hand. John's letter read:

Dear Michelle,

I was on my way home to you when I became tired and decided to rest for a while. I found a nice place to hide but before I could lock myself away I was grabbed and taken in the wrong direction. Thankfully I was grabbed again and am now heading in the right one! I will be travelling to the Chicago area this weekend and hopefully I'll see you soon!

Love,
John

John's story moved MajorBrat so much that he took John to "Breakfast in the SW Burbs" of Chicago 78.4 miles south east of where they met. John celebrated with the Smiley-Face Pancakes (pancakes w/ whipped cream & cherry topping - served w/ one bacon strip & one sausage link.) because now he and Michelle where only 2674.83 miles apart.

On Febuary 2nd 2005 John was reintroduced to an old friend, Wzbt03. Wzbt03 took John 66.8 miles north west to be part of the "Kinnikinnick Ravine Challenge." John remained here (2741.38 miles from Michelle) for over a month.

During this time we've had to ask the unexpected question: "Did Michelle loose her cloths?" Fred Bare delivered the shocking report on February 19th 2005 after his visit to the "Old sugar mill." Fred states, "Decided not to remove the other TB as I felt people might talk if they saw a grown man carrying a naked doll down the street." Michelle naked? Is it possible? Did she forget to pack her swimming gear?

And the plot continues to thicken. We do not know when it happened, and we are sorry John had to go through such a awful experience, but at some point the safe haven in which he had found refuge was attacked by muggles. Luckily HELIDOC heroically flew into the area and rescued John on March 8th 2005.

HELIDOC nursed John back to health so that on April 1st 2005 John was able to go 6 miles south west to the "Rockford & Kenosha R.R." to continue his journey to find Michelle. John liked this new place not only because he enjoys old abandoned railroads but because he could sense he was closer to Michelle. (currently 2740.56 miles apart)

The next day after a very quick french lesson from lucy92979 John writes:

Michelle... mon Belle...

...I pine for you....life is not fantastic without you...even if I'm plastic. Al handed me to lucy and she assures me I will make it closer to Chicagoland. I look foward to spending nights under the stars gazing into your eyes and seeing the reflection....ahh....enough of the poetic. One way or another I'm going to find you. Wait for me my Michelle.

John and lucy92979 traveled 60.2 miles to the south east. John set up camp in Pioneer Park (2680.32 miles from Michelle) and will attempt to "Name That Cache."

Accompanied by a Cat & Bear John delivered the following letter on April 16th 2005.

Michelle,

I have been searching for you in midwestern America for 122 days now. Where can my love be? But fear not, I will continue my search until we are together again. And until then, I will lie down in green pastures and dream of you.

Love,
John

Sunday the 15th (of May), a much better day than the controversial day two days prior, news arrived that Michelle has not been at her current location alone. It turns out that Michelle has actually been in the presence of the mysterious "Doorknob of Serendipity." What powers does this doorknob have? Is it responsible for Michelle's missing cloths? Or did it fog Fred Bare's judgment when he first met Michelle? What door does this knob open?
