Review: A Christmas Snow
I was fortunate enough to get a sneak preview of this new movie, A Christmas Snow, from Trost Moving Pictures. I think you will find it enjoyable, especially if you enjoy the heartwarming Hallmark special type of show (no big explosions or surprise trips to the North Pole in this one).
The first few minutes might have you thinking you're watching another rendition of A Christmas Carol, but hang in there, you aren't. The story finds the main three characters, who are practically strangers to one another, trapped together and snowed in just days before Christmas. The result is a humorous, touching, and inspiring tale of how each character impacts the others journey to face their own past as well as facing their future. The movie covers topics of forgiveness, loss, redemption, hurt, denial and change. This makes for a great Christmas movie worthy of repeat viewings and after viewing conversations.
I found this movie to be well cast. Each cast member pulls off their roles quite well. However, the new comer child actress Cameron Ten Napel does steal the show. Her energy and tenacity really makes this movie fun. It is her performance that will make you want to watch it again each year.
When watching a new DVD, I'm also interested in the extras. This DVD comes with cast interviews and behind the scenes footage which were fun to watch and informative. The feature I was most intrigued with was the "Narration for the Visually Impaired," which I had never seen on a DVD. If this feature is enabled additional narration is included to explain what is happening on screen. So that is an added bonus, if you need such a feature.
A Christmas Snow, check it out.
